This function does not work

Something is wrong with this sensor, which does not function properly. All the digital numbers roll back and forth, even without stopping, in the picture of the metal detector in my iPad screen when I tested a Canadian quarter coin on the ground. No red or yellow alert light has came on. Please fix and correct it.
